Daniel Vaughn is the author of the Prophets of Smoked Meat, the co-author of Whole Hog BBQ: The Gospel of Carolina Barbecue, and the Barbecue Editor at Texas Monthly. He has traveled the world sampling smoked meats at over 1,600 barbecue joints, most of which are in Texas.

Adrian Miller is a James Beard Award-winning author, food writer, recovering attorney, politico, and certified barbecue judge. He is currently writing his next book on African American barbecue culture, tentatively titled Black Smoke.
